DAY 2: Marrakech – Atlas Villages – Tizi-n-Test – Oued Berhil

Depart from Marrakech after breakfast and journey to the peaceful hamlets that dot the south. There, spend time with the people of these villages, who go about their daily lives in the same way they have done for centuries. In the afternoon, journey on through the remarkable natural beauty that surrounds the Tizi-n-Test pass before stopping for the night in the peaceful town of Oued Berhil.

DAY 3: Oued Berhil – Talouine – Zagora
B-D

In the morning, enjoy breakfast as you watch the spectacles of peacocks lounging on the grounds around you before heading to the saffron capital of Morocco, Talaouine. There, you have the chance to view demonstrations of saffron harvesting and/or processing, depending on the time of year of your visit. Later, drive on to Zagora, one of the major stopping points in the south. Enjoy your evening meal, and take some time to rewind from the day before resting for the night.

DAY 4: Zagora – Desert
B-D

Today, depart from the desert outpost of Zagora and head out to the sprawling dunes of the Sahara. Begin your exploration on all-terrain 4x4 vehicles to take in the austere beauty of the desert and learn about this fascinating environment from your guides. Afterwards, continue your journey atop dromedary camels, known as Ships of the Desert, until evening. If you wish, you may continue your desert stay overnight, with an evening meal cooked over a campfire and a celebration of drums, dance, and song before falling asleep under a blanket of Saharan stars.

DAY 5: Zagora – Ouarzazate
B-D

Today, depart for Ouarzazate, known as the ‘Hollywood of Morocco’ because of all the films that have been shot at Atlas Studios. The Kasbah has been used a s backdrop for many famous movies, including Lawrence of Arabia and Gladiator. The road beneath you turns to red clay as you journey to Telouet, a rustic town that was once a principal stop on the main caravan route to Mali. Here, visit the crumbling Kasbah that was once the palatial residence of the powerful warlord, the Pasha Glaoui before continuing through the Tizi-n-nTickka pass, the highest road in Morocco, on way to Marrakech to spend the night.
