Detailed Daily Itinerary

DAY 1: Casablanca
L-D

Welcome to Morocco! Today you arrive in Casablanca and meet your guides at Mohammed V International Airport. After collecting baggage and introductions, you will have a brief driving tour of the city to get used to your surroundings before resting from your travels.

DAY 2: Casablanca - Larache - Asilah - Tangiers
B-D

Your adventure begins with a visit to the Great Mosque of Hassan II, where you can also view the el Hank Lighthouse in the distance. This visit is followed by a lunch in the city’s historic downtown. Afterwards, depart Casablanca and drive along the scenic Atlaantic coast to Larache, where you stop for rest and refreshment before making your way to the fortified Portuguese city of Asilah. Among the historical sites you may visit are the Bab Homar, the Berber Kasbah, and the Palace of Raisouli, all the while enjoying the relaxing ambiance and quaint beauty of the town. Before the day ends, make your way to the port city of Tangiers to spend the night.

DAY 3: Tangiers - Chefchaouen
B-D

Start the morning exploring the magnificent medina of Tangier. Deemed an international zone for the first half of the twentieth century, Tangier has been called home by such notables as Woolworth heiress Barbara Hutton and author William Burroughs, who were enticed to the city for its elán and carefree atmosphere. After lunch, head to the quiet mountainside town of Chefchaouen to explore its medina, well-restored 16th-century Kasbah, and the source of the mountain spring that supplies the town with its fresh water, Ras el Ma.

DAY 4: Chefchaouen - Volubilis - Fes
B-D

After breakfast, spend the morning exploring Chefchaouen on your own, perhaps doing a little shopping, or making new friends. After lunch, make your way to the ruins of the former Roman outpost that is Volubilis. Once home to nearly 20,000 people during Roman occupation, many of its structures and mosaics are still intact for you to behold. From Volubilis, it’s only a short jaunt to Fes, the artistic and academic capital of Morocco., to rest for the night.

DAY 5: Fes
B-D

Fes is still the same city it was in the medieval ages, little changed since that time. Your guided tour of the city starts at the beautiful Bab Boujloud before following your guide into the heart of the medina. Here, you have the opportunity to visit the different districts of Fes and take in views of the city from the overlooking hills, as well as visit many principal monuments, including: the Nejarrine Square, the tanneries, and the Bou Inania Medersa. Your evening meal is in a beautifully restored, 19th century palace restaurant, Al Fassia.

DAY 6: Fes - Seffrou/Bhalil - Immouzzar Kandar - Azrou - Meknes
B-D

Depart from Fes after breakfast and head to the old Jewish settlement of Seffrou Bhalil. Known for its gold jewelry, this region is renowned as the premier location for silver tribal jewelry, as well. You also have the opportunity to visit with the local people, many of whom dwell in the many caves that dot the region. From Seffrou Bhalil, make your way through Immouzza Kandar, Morocco’s scenic lake country. In the afternoon, arrive at the Berber village of Azrou. Surrounded by cedar forests populated with macaque monkeys known as Barbary Apes, this tranquil village is the perfect place to stop for a short respite before heading onward to the imperial city of Meknes for the night.

DAY 7: Meknes - Rabat
B

Spend the morning exploring the winding streets of the medina in Meknes, making important stops at the marble-laden gate, Bab Mansour, and paying our respects at the tomb of Moulay Ismail, one of the first sultans of the Alouite dynasty. After lunch, travel to Rabat, Morocco’s modern-day capital. Spend time taking in such sites as the Hassan Tower and the mausoleum of Mohammed V, and exploring the vast complex of the Oudaya Kasbah.

DAY 8: Rabat - Casablanca
B

Your adventure draws to a close! Today you depart from Rabat to arrive and check-in for your onward flights from Casablanca.
