DAY 1: Marrakech
L-D

Welcome to Morocco! Today you arrive to Marrakech and meet your guides at Menara Airport. After collecting baggage and introductions, you’ll have a short driving tour of the city to get you acquainted with your surroundings, time permitting, before turning in for the night.

DAY 2: Marrakech - Setti Fatma & Ourika Falls - Asni
B-D

Depart from Marrakech after breakfast and journey to the paceful hamlet of Setti Fatma, home of the source of the Ourika River. Disembark from your vehicle and make the short, pleasant hike along the river to take in each of the seven waterfalls that chase after one another in succession. Upon returning to Setti Fatma, have lunch at one of the many small eateries in the town, and take some time to explore the shops a bit before heading on to the village of Asni to spend the night.

DAY 3: Asni - Imlil - Ouirgane - Tin Mal - Tizi-n-Test - Oued Berhil
B-D

Awake in the quintessential Berber town of Asni to the sounds of blacksmiths and other workers beginning their day. Then head to Imlil, a rural town with an old west feel that sits at the foot of Mount Toubkal, the highest peak in North Africa. From there, stop briefly for rest and refreshment at Ouirgane before heading to Tin Mal. This site of a former royal treasury boasts a mosque built during the Almohad dynasty in the 12th century that is still intact, and well preserved. End your day with a journey through the Tizi-n-Test Pass, the second highest in the Atlas, on your way to Oued Berhil. Your accomodations for the night is a superbly decorated riad that was once the private residence of Pasha Hiya.

DAY 4: Oued Berhil - Talaouine - Tin Fat - Tazenackt - Ouarzazate
B-D

Your first stop as you head out from Oued Berhil is the saffron capital of Morocco, Talaouine. There, you have the chance to view demonstrations of saffron harvesting and/or processing, depending on the time of year of your visit. Journey onwards, stopping to stretch the legs in the rustic wayside village of Tin Fat, and arrive at one of the south's most important crossroads, the town of Tazenacht. In a country of beautiful carpets, every Moroccan knows that some of the best come from Tazenacht. After taking a stroll and seeing the sights of the town, continue on to Ouarzazate to rest for the night.

DAY 5: Ouarzazate - Ait ben Haddou - Telouet - Tizi-n-Tichka - Marrakech
B-D

The day begins in Ouarzazate, called the 'Hollywood of Morocco' because of its resident film production company, Atlas Studios. Today, journey to one of the sites often used in the films produced at Atlas, the sprawling fortification of Ait ben Haddou. Explore this impressive ksour until it is time to head on to Telouet, once the only passage through this part of the Atlas Mountains. The now crumbling palace and former residence of the mighty warlord Pasha Glouai can still be seen here. Carry on through Morocco's highest road, the Tizi-n-Tichka Pass, before reaching Marrakech for the night.

DAY 6: Marrakech
Open Dining Day

Marrakech has an ambiance altogether different than the other Imperial Cities, and this becomes apparent as you explore the city on a guided walking tour of its souks and monuments. Your visits include the Koutoubia Mosque, the Bahia Palace, the ruins of the Baadi Palace with giant stork nests amidst its crenelated battlements, and the once hidden tombs of the Saadian Kings. Other places of interest include the Ali ben Youssef Madrasa, or Koranic school, the Museum of Marrakech, and many of the souks where workers and craftsmen produce artisan goods in leather, metal, and wood. After your tour of the medina, you have time to relax on your own, or explore independently.

DAY 7: Marrakech
B-D

Enjoy a day of relaxation and exploration of Marrakech on your own, or join us in a day trip to the breathtaking 300-foot falls of the Cascades d'Ouzoud. The choice is yours! In Marrakech, you can spend time pleasantly wandering the winding streets of the medina, sipping mint tea at a café, or visiting the beautiful botanical gardens at Les Jardins Majorelle or the Menara Gardens. Alternately, you may choose to visit the Cascades, among the highest waterfalls on the continent, and picnic in the surrounding olive groves. You may even be visited by wandering troupes of curious Barbary Apes! No matter how you choose to spend your day, your evening meal is at the historic restaurant Dar Essalam, where portions of Alfred Hitchcock's film, The Man Who Knew Too Much, were filmed.
