Begin in the port city of Tangier, and head directly to Rabat, the capital of Morocco. Here, visit historical and cultural sites before heading to Marrakech. Morocco’s Pearl of the South, Marrakech, is home to Koranic schools known as medressas, tombs of former sultangs, botanical gardens, and the bustling main square, Djmaa el Fna. After a full day of exploring, head north, stopping for lunch and a bit of rest in the town of Beni Mellal, before arriving in Fes. Here, too, spend a full day exploring the workers’ souks, visiting the oldest university in the world, and observing the city from the hill that houses the tombs of the Merinid sultans. On your final day, continue north, stopping briefly in the town of Ouezzin, famous throughout Morocco for its Berber carpets. Journey on to spend the afternoon in the peaceful mountain town of Chefchaouen, exploring its 15th-century Kasbah, before returning to Tangiers.
