Based in Madison, Wisconsin and with representatives in Morocco, Tramp Imperial Travel offers scheduled and custom departure tours to Morocco. Our tours focus on the culture of Morocco and explore the history, dining and artistic traditions of this diverse and historic land. Participants have an opportunity to visit and learn first-hand from artisans, cooks and everyday Moroccan people. From the Imperial Cities to the Sahara, guests of Tramp Imperial Travel will be greeted with genuine Moroccan hospitality
We began offering organized tours in 2003. Our company is partnership of experienced Moroccan tourism professionals headed by Richard S. Bunk (USA) and Hamid Hassnoui (Morocco). We bring to our operation many years of combined experience and a great deal of enthusiasm to share what we’ve termed, the magic of Morocco.
Our small group tours introduce Morocco in a very personable way. Our professional, friendly, English-speaking guides have the knowledge and experience to show you extraordinary places beyond what can be found in a guidebook. With proven itineraries, we take participants to the bustling Imperial Cities, the massive natural beauty of the Atlas Mountains, to long golden strands of glistening beach, and to the soulful expanse of the Sahara Desert. With many excursions to secluded, out-of-the-way locations as well as to major destinations, our particpants have the opportunity to intimately experience the authentic Morocco.

Our company has been built on the concept of professional friendship between our core employees, service providers and clients. The team of Moroccan specialists who work together as Tramp Imperial Travel have been friends for many years. This spirit of friendship in which we operate imparts many of our participants the feeling of genuine camaraderie while traveling with us. We encourage you to get to know us a little bit and to be sincerely welcomed when you choose to travel with Tramp Imperial Travel. Responsible tourism begins with an understanding and respect for the people and environment of the countries that we visit. When we travel to Morocco, we are guests in an amazingly diverse country of beautiful, natural vistas; a history that stretches farther back than antiquity; deeply rooted religious and social traditions; and a dynamically vibrant culture. By conducting small group tours, Tramp Imperial Travel strongly believes we can do our part in reducing our impact upon this environment, its local culture and resources. We encourage our participants to purchase arts and crafts that support local artisans, but to avoid products that are exploitative of wildlife or harmful to the environment. In the course of our work, we try to reduce and limit the production of waste or litter; extend our respect for the animal and plant life encountered; make use of vehicles that are in good mechanical repair; and employ local service providers, shop and restaurants. As both an Arab and Amazigh (Berber) country, we remind our participants that there are many customs and traditions that may seem strange and, in some cases, contrary to we who visit. It is important for us to remember that we have come to experience this culture and not to impose our own values or bias. We should strive to be patient in situations that are different and realize the possible validity of ideas and customs that are not the same as our own. The International Institute for Peace Through Tourism has provided an inspiring credo for the peaceful traveler. We feel that this credo summarizes and incorporates many ideal qualities of thoughtful, responsible tourism and we enthusiastically subscribe to this philosophy. Tramp Imperial Travel Co. encourages all of our clients and our fellow travelers to consider the observation of this credo, too. IIPT Credo of the Peaceful Traveler: Hamid el Hasnaoui is Tramp Imperial Travel’s Director of Operations in Morocco. Originally from the desert region near Merzouga, Hamid currently resides in the picturesque north Moroccan town of Chefchaouen. Since 2003, Hamid has been a principal member of Tramp Imperial Travel and one of our most personable Trip Leaders. Equally familiar with the streets and alleys of the Imperial Cities as with the rock strewn back roads, kasbahs and villages of the Atlas Mountains and the Sahara, Hamid has led tour groups from around the world to many of Morocco’s most awe inspiring destinations. With more than fifteen years experience in Moroccan tourism, Hamid’s first priority is to provide each of our participants a unique and memorable experience. As owner and operator of Tramp Imperial Travel, Richard S. Bunk works closely with the team of tourism professionals headed by Hamid el Hasnaoui in Morocco. Richard’s experience in Morocco began over a decade ago as an artist on sabbatical, tramping through Europe and North Africa. Inspired by the rugged beauty, traditional values and welcome nature of Morocco and its people, Richard eventually formed Tramp Imperial Travel with the hope that others might be led to experience the evocative and unexpected qualities that make Morocco like no other place. When you book travel with us, we collect certain details including email address, telephone number and billing/credit information. We require this information to process the booking properly. We will use your information to respond to you regarding the reason you contacted us, to send you a brochure or to respond to requests for further information from you. Further, we may use the email address for our occasional e-news letter only if you opt-in for that. Every electronic newsletter has unsubscribe facilities should you wish to no longer receive these. Unless you ask us not to, we may from time to time send you email to tell you about specials, new products or services, or changes to this privacy policy. Tramp Imperial Travel will not share your personal details with other companies. The only information we have access to or collect that which you voluntarily give us via email or other direct contact from you. We will not sell or rent this information to anyone. We will not share your information with any third party outside of our organization, other than as necessary to fulfill your request and we have taken all reasonable precautions to protect your information from unauthorized access. We feel that you have a right to know what personal information we hold on you and this can be provided on request.
